11.9.2009 | 3rd Extreme Home Makeover House near Rockford Branch
Springfield Electric contributed to a 3rd Extreme Makeover Home Edition in the last year near our Rockford Branch location is Freeport, IL.
The Rockford Branch Manager, Dennis Hazel, received the call from Stan Kasper, a friend of Hasken Construction, asking if Springfield Electric would help with the Project. Springfield Electric contributed electrical rough-in and finish material that included meter bases, wire, PVC, dimmers, and more.
A few members of the Rockford Branch Team and their families were able to visit the Extreme Home Makeover Site during construction, and some participated as volunteers in the building of home.
Congratulations Rockford for participating in another community effort and EMHE worthy cause.
ABOUT THE FAMILY:
The Stott Family had a dream of living in the country and running an Organic Green Farm, but Joey Stott was diagnosed with leukemia not too long after they bought their farm. Through Joey illness and a fire later, the farm and their financial situation has suffered tremendously.
They are strong believers in giving back to the community and helping others. Now it is their turn to be helped! Spring View Acres close to Joey’s home town of Lena.
The farm included a barn, chicken coop, pig-pen, other out-buildings and a very old farmhouse with no insulation and 100-year-old wiring, all of which the family planned to update and improve over the coming years.
When Joey and Philip married six years ago, they were both single parents: Philip had two children, Kaila and Jonathon (now ages 18 and 16, respectively), and Joey had one, Michael (now age 15). When they became one family, they bought a small farm.
